- Understand various stigmas, discriminations, and traumas that impact LGBTQ+ people.
- Summarize the intersections of LGBTQ+ identities, substance use, and mental health.
- Practice ways to effectively communicate about sexual orientation and gender identity in affirming ways.
- Utilize an identity-based approach when collecting information and guiding care.
Applicable to all providers, especially prescribers (MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs within primary care specialties such as family medicine and internal medicine) and mental health providers.
